Fall Photo Shoot

I tried taking the girls pictures one afternoon at the park by our house. I got a couple pictures but decided that I needed help from a professional so I set up an appointment for a couple weeks later. I will show those pictures but I have to wait until I send out our Christmas cards.

Brinley is quite the poser these days

Everything Princess

My mom and I took the girls to a princess event put on by Children and Families of Iowa held at Jordan Creek Mall. Let me just tell you that this event is every little girls dream come true. I would have been in heaven I they would have had this when I was little. I think it was as much fun for me watching them get all dolled up as it was for them. We started out the day around 7:00 because we needed to be there by 8:00. It is such a great event for all little girls. The event ended with a showing of the movie "Tangled" at the theater. Avery fell asleep during the movie but not Brinley. She watched the whole thing while eaing all the popcorn and pop.

We celebrated Grandpa Romey's birthday back in September. The girls favorite part about birthdays is the cake. They couldn't wait to dig in. They were immediately asking who's birthday is next.

Avery and Brinley favorite thing to do as you will probably witness a lot on here is dressing up. They probably dress up 5 or 6 times a day minimum.

First Day of School Take Two

Well, Matt and I decided to switch the girls from Johnston preschool. Long story but the school was just not living up to our standards. It just wasn't a good situation plus I had to drive to Johnston to drop them off. I started calling around Ankeny to see what was open. I think that it was meant to be, because I called the Ankeny Methodist Church and they had two openings. They were actually having their open house that evening and Matt and I went. They made us feel so welcome and Matt was sold. It has been a wonderful experience ever since.

ISU

Matt and I thought it would be fun to take the girls to their first ISU football game. We bought season tickets and got them lil cyclone club tickets. The first game was against UNI and it had been raining all morning but was supposed to stop around noon for the six o' clock game. Well... as we were leaving around 2:30 it was pouring all the way there. There was no where to park since some of the parking lots were flooded. We ended up parking over a mile away and it was still raining. We started tailgating and then it stopped raining so we thought we were out of the clear. On our way to the game it started pouring and Matt told me that I didn't need my phone so I left it in the car. Big Mistake!!! Brinley and I were following Matt and Avery and when we approached the stadium we rounded the cornere and lost them..go figure. We stood there for awhile and then I decided that we should look for them, I don't know what i was thinking, there was a lot of people. Finally I decided that I would ask a kind lady to use her phone and after three atempts he finally answered. After we finally got our tickets and got to our seats it started raining and blowing again. Who's bright idea was it to bring the girls to the game??!! We sat in our seats until the first half was over and then we moved to the hill. After we were losing we decided to leave the game and then wouldn't you know it we came back and won!! Oh well, it may be a long time before I bring the girls again.

Firsts

The girls were getting all excited for their first day of three year old preschool. I painted their fingernails and toenails with sparkly paint. We enrolled them in preschool at Johnston schools again since that is where they went last year.

The traditional first day of school pictures, can you sense the excitment of having their pictures taken? Haha

This year we also started a new "first". The girls started dance and tumbling at Ankeny Dance. This means that they will be in a real recital this year. I am beyond excited as any mom can't wait to see their daughters dance.
